First impressions count so you need to ensure it’s looking its best

GET SOME SERIOUS STREET APPEAL

They say a picture is worth a thousand words – and in the world of property that statement couldn’t be more true.  With 9 out of 10 consumers searching for their next property online* there are a couple of key things you can do to make your home stand out from the crowd.

Get some street appeal

First impressions count and it’s the outside of your property prospective buyers will see first, so you need to ensure it’s looking its best.  There are a couple of simple, affordable steps you can do to improve the street appeal of your property including:

•          Mow your lawn and weed your garden,

•          Plant some colourful, attractive plants,

•          Remove any leaves or dirt from your driveway and pathways, and

•          If required, apply a coat of paint to freshen up your home.

Make it spick and span

Put yourself in the shoes of potential buyers – what would you want the property to look like?

•          Make sure everything is tidy and presentable – this can really make a difference to buyers,

•          Ensure windows are clean and free of cob webs,

•          Have the carpets steam cleaned to remove any stains,

•          Remove any build-up in the kitchen and bathrooms, and

•          Remember, not everyone loves animals – make sure you put away your pet’s toys and food bowls and remove any pet odour.

Get your handy-man (or lady) onto it

Don’t let something as small as loose hinges on a door lose you a sale!  If you noticed it then a prospective buyer will definitely notice it.

Get rid of the clutter

Make your property look spacious and show off its best features. Keep in mind, a prospective buyer needs to imagine their belongings in your property. Put away smaller items like clothes, shoes and any other items that will make your property look cluttered.

Make sure all your hard work gets photographed

When preparing your home to be photographed, it is important to keep in mind how you want your property to be perceived, for example – is it an upmarket property or a warm, inviting family home?

If you’re not sure how, or want to make sure you make a great first impression with your property photographs, upgrade your package to Premium or Premium Plus and have a homesales.com.au Professional Photographer take photos of your property for you.

If you’d like to find out more about how great photos can help you get the best results, you can get in touch with our friendly Homesales support team on 1300 291 914 or at support@homesales.com.au.
