WYNNUM, QUEENSLAND
Location
Wynnum is a suburb located on the shores of Moreton Bay in Brisbane, about 16 kilometres east of the CBD.
Description
The suburb has traditionally boasted a country town atmosphere, but new residential development is resulting in significant population growth and changing demographics. The area is now marked by a mix of character housing and modern housing.
Although Wynnum is situated next to the ocean, the shoreline is covered in mangroves and aromatic mudflats which makes it unsuitable for swimming at low tide. Next to the Wynnum Wading Pool which has a playground and Water Park and the Wynnum Jetty, there is a man-made beach called Pandanus Beach.

There is a number of schooling options available in Wynnam, both public and private, as well additional education facilities available in surrounding suburbs. There is also a campus of the Metropolitan South Institute of TAFE located nearby in Alexandria Hills.
The suburb is home to a hospital, police station, Gold Club, RSL Club and has its own train station that provides access in to Brisbane. There are also a number of parks and sporting fields scattered around the locale.
